Employee (In-State) Tuition Rate Eligibility

Graduate students with a GTA, GRA, or GA appointment of 40% or more are eligible for the employee rates benefit, including tuition rates equivalent to in-state rates. Residency applications are required. Required campus fees and all other required fees are assessed.

GTA Tuition Waiver

The Budget Office uses HR/Pay information to determine the tuition waiver percentage. The tuition waiver percentage is loaded into the student system which will result in the waiver being applied.

3G Certification to Enroll in Fewer than 6 Hours*

Eligible graduate student employees may receive approval to enroll in fewer than 6 credit hours. These requests are reviewed and approved by the Office of Graduate Studies.

*Applies ONLY to:
1. Doctoral students holding a 3G appointment who have completed or will be completing 18 hours post-comp and will reduce below 6 credit hours
OR
2. Master’s students holding a GRA appointment only in their final semester of enrollment and who will not continue on to a PhD program at KU
